Family Day 22nd June
Thankfully it was a bright and clear day, and not as hot as the Saturday.
The first games started just after 1100 which was a bit ambitious knowing our punctuality but away we went after much gesticulating and shouting. Well done to Nelson A who set up the competition which was keenly fought between the five sides of seven players each. Some great hitting and quick running meant that scores in the 5 overs were high. In the background, families started to arrive and it was great to catch up with people not seen for a while and to welcome the newly born. Sanjay A did a great job on the commentating, upsetting some of the neighbours with his volume as we waited for the Biriani, prepared by Rafiq M to arrive, quickly followed by the ice creams supplied by Bala. Nothing was left at the end - well done to those two. Thanks to all who took part and especially to those involved with the organisation of the day, including Jackie behind the Bar who tried to keep us in check, Sami and Madhu who tried to be the sensible ones and Tej and Raghu who couldn’t stop their emotions!
Congratulations to Nelson A and his merry band, Ela M, Sanjay A, Logu S, Tej SM, Raja N and Sri for winning the competition. A good day was had by all.
